Denise Underwood is a Principal at Council Vision who leads Council Vision’s professional development practice, helping our clients unlock their performance potential and that of their organizations. Her 40-year career in executive leadership, management consulting, technology strategy and implementation, and research uniquely prepares her to coach and advise executives and emerging leaders.
Denise has held global executive roles at TTi, Gartner and Equifax executing operational, product and business development strategies. She also worked in the Federal sector for 12 years engaging with the HHS/CDC at the highest levels, with responsibility and accountability for more than $100 million of total contract value.
She has published three books. While working at Gartner, she co-wrote Multi-sourcing: Moving Beyond Outsourcing to Achieve Growth and Agility (Harvard Business Press) helped enterprise leaders plan and execute multi-sourcing strategies. Her second, Essential ISO/IEC 20000 Executive’s Guide (ITpreneurs) helped quality leaders manage risk, compliance and customer satisfaction in outsourcing. And her third, So What are You Famous For?: Finding your Personal Brand; Turning Strategy into Leadership, provides a unique perspective on how to translate personal performance into a strong leadership brand.
Denise is a lifelong learner and teacher, and is a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master, Trained ITIL Service Master, ISO 9000 Tick IT Auditor and Fellow, Life Management Institute with Distinction. She lives in central Mississippi and is a keen yoga practitioner.
